SNIFFER DOG SAVES TRAINER'S LIFE

The sniffer dog is revered as a hero when it shields its trainer during a gunfight.

A sniffer dog named Kasper, who once protected US President Donald Trump, is slowly recovering after being shot in the hip.

Kasper was injured when officers at the Palm Beach, Florida Sheriff's Office exchanged guns with a wanted man.

Phillip Oshea was charged with shooting and robbery in Jupiter Township on May 12. Fox 13 News reported that when surrounded by police, Oshea opened fire on them.

However, the robber was later killed by a bullet.

"Kasper was injured while protecting a colleague in a gunfight," the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook along with a photo of Kasper lying on a veterinary operating table.

It is known that during the scuffle, Kasper was hit by a bullet in the left hip. Fortunately, the bullet did not affect vital organs and was removed at a veterinary hospital.

After the surgery, Kasper recovered from the effects of the anesthetic. Video posted on Twitter by the sheriff's office shows the dog easily walking out of the clinic.
