Recently, a rescue team from Abrigo Animais Aumigos discovered a dog family, consisting of the mother dog and her three puppies. The whole family was lying on the open ground, and the four of them looked tired. The mother dog cried because she could not feed her puppies.

The mother dog Paola was exhausted from hunger, so her puppies had no milk to suckle. Everything seemed so bad for them, the family lay motionless on the ground. The rescuers thought the family hadn’t gotten food for a long time.

Paola could only close her eyes and endure the hunger. On the other hand, her puppies also appeared to be in excruciating discomfort. The family was underweight and frail. The puppies also experienced hardship and need.

The rescue team promptly offered the mother dog a bowl of food and brought the family to the veterinarian. Unfortunately, the vet found that they were terribly malnourished and had ticks all over their bodies. In addition, two puppies were better than the third. Thus, the two healthier puppies were kept separately.

Paola and her puppies were looked after at the rescue facility and given nutritious foods to aid in their recovery. However, the mother dog’s stomach was very tight that they were unable to feed her much.

They ensured that the mother dog ate slowly. They fed her with lots of protein, hoping the mother dog and her puppies would return to good health soon.

After 3 days, Paola’s health improved. She can feed herself and take care of her puppies. By the tenth day, all four dogs gained weight, their health improved markedly. Paola no longer doubted her rescuers and got friendlier with them. She could now walk around by herself.

Paola was fully well after two months. After receiving regular attention and nourishment at the rescue facility, her health condition improved. Her three puppies were adopted by kind families, and Paola led a happy life.
