Tiniest dog rescued from puppy mill is introduced to his first ever friend

Meet Ruggles, a tiny Shih-Tzu puppy rescued from a puppy mill. Despite a difficult start in life, he has a big smile and a heartwarming story to share.

Ruggles was taken in by the Cherokee County Animal Shelter where he received care and a chance to adjust to a new environment. That's when he met his best friend, Chompers - a kitten found alone and also in need of a companion.

The video of their first meeting shows how they quickly hit it off, playing and enjoying each other's company. Ruggles and Chompers soon became inseparable friends, overcoming their past struggles and blossoming into happy, healthy pets.

Sadly, Ruggles and Chompers couldn't be adopted together due to Chompers' rough play, but both have found loving families. Ruggles now serves as an ambassador for the shelter, helping to educate about the dangers of puppy mills and promoting adoption over purchasing pets.
