Rescued Pittie Was Once Too Scared To Leave The Cardboard Box He Was Found in

When officers found this starving pit bull, it was too afraid to leave the plum box it was hiding in.

It’s impossible to imagine how a person can abandon their pet but sadly it happens every day. When this broken-hearted dog was rescued by Lifeline Animal Project, the dog was so sad and afraid, it refused to leave the cardboard plum box it had curled up in.

Despite the dog’s fear, he allowed himself to be pet by rescue workers but he wouldn’t let them take him out of the box. Knowing they’d have to gain his trust, they set up a nice crate with a fluffy bed and treats in hopes to coax him out of his shell.

Finally, after the dog began connecting with some of the employees, he left his box and began exploring. He even went into his crate and enjoyed his fluffy bed. For the first time, he even wagged his tail.

Not long after leaving his box, the sweet dog they eventually named Plum began coming out of his shell. His personality began to shine and he allowed shelter staff to love on him and returned their love, too.

They began to share his story on social media and sure enough, the perfect person saw him. Plum went to her home to meet her other dog and the two hit it off and were soon playing. It seemed that the once abandoned pup found the right home, it was the perfect fit.

It is hard to imagine that this sweet and silly chunk of a pit bull who is now having the best time was once the scrawny, hungry dog too afraid to leave the safety of a cardboard box.

It’s so heartwarming to see the transformation and how a little love and care can make such a huge difference in a dog’s life.

Please share his amazing rescue story with all your friends.
