Puppy Saved From Fiгe Becomes A Fiгefighteг

Sometimes we get a rough start in life. I’ve always been told it’s not how you start the race that counts, but how you finish it. One very touching story about a pit bull named Jake is definitely a perfect example of this.

When Jake was just a tiny puppy, he was in a fire. He was only a few weeks old at the time. Fortunately for Jake, he was rescued from the burning shed by a firefighter. He was rushed to the vet for treatment. The poor pup was badly wounded from the fire and had burns all across his body.

Sadly for Jake, it was there at the vet’s office that he was officially abandoned by his owners. Injured and now homeless, things were not looking great for the tiny puppy. But then fate intervened on the pup’s behalf when the firefighter responsible for rescuing Jake decided to adopt him.

This quickly took a better turn in his life. Jake recovered from his injuries thanks to the love and support of his new family. Being that his new owner was a firefighter, that meant that the pooch got to grow up at the fire station. He fit in well to life at the fire station, even gaining his own favorite post atop the fire truck.

Life since adoption has been pretty good to Jake. He gets to help the fire crew check fire hydrants. And he’s also become the Hanahan Fire Department’s official mascot. This means that Jake gets to be an ambassador within the public. He regularly goes on local school trips to teach children about fire safety.

When he became the official mascot, he was sworn in and got to pledge a K-9 oath of office. Additionally, he was also made an official department member which means that he also got his own vest and badge. But perhaps what is even cuter is the little firefighter uniform his owner made for him.

Jake has been such a vital part of the community through his work with the fire department, but this dog’s job is far from over. In the future there is also plans for Jake to become a licensed therapy dog in order for him to work with kids who’ve suffered burns.

Overall, this pooch is one special canine! Check out the video below:
