Expressive boxer hilariously ‘talks back’ to owner when he refuses to give him cheese
If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that cheese is delicious.
There are so many tasty kinds to try, and they’re all delicious in their own way. And a Boxer named Bacchus very much agrees.
And when his owner doesn’t give him his cheeses, he sometimes gets a little bit upset.
Apparently, in typical Bacchus fashion.
“Bacchus is a very energetic boxer dog that loves to play. He is stubborn, sassy, and loves attention!” his YouTube profile explains.
And honestly, I feel you, Bacchus… I feel you.
But Bacchus is way cuter than I am when he whines about not getting his cheese. So, much so that his little hissy fit ended up going viral on YouTube.
The video starts with the boxer detecting that cheeses are being eaten and deciding that he wants in on the cheesy goodness by standing next to Dad and staring at him while Dad eats said cheeses.
He lets out a screechy whine to let his dad know for sure that he wants him some cheese, in case it wasn’t already totally obvious to Dad.
That whine excels into a high pitch bark and yawn. Perhaps, that will change Dad’s mind?
But it doesn’t, so his whining continues.
Then it gets persistent and turns into an uninterrupted stream of whining.
But that doesn’t work either.
So, Bacchus tries to stop and start his whining and then tries to plead to the person taking the video to intercede on his behalf.
At this point, it seems that Bacchus is about to give up, and he turns to walk away. But then… a spark of hope!
“What do you want, huh?” Dad finally asks.
As if he doesn’t know!
But Bacchus knows that he knows and just licks his lips and looks at dad with his big doggo eyes instead of whining.
“Bacchus knows there is cheese in the kitchen and wants it!” the video’s caption explains.
We never actually find out whether or not Bacchus got his cheese, but my guess is that he did.
Apparently, boxers and their love of cheese is a known thing.
“It’s no secret that Boxers love cheese… In fact, cheese is something that nearly all dogs love, and it’s frequently used as a high-value treat,” The Puppy Mag writes. “Boxers just like all dogs are lactose intolerant in varying degrees. Cheese is a dairy product and therefore causes a lot of digestive issues and stomach sensitivity.”
The American Kennel Club, however, says a little cheese is OK.
“Yes, dogs can eat cheese. In fact, cheese is often a great training tool, especially for puppies. But should dogs eat cheese? While some dogs can eat cheese, and most dogs love it, many dogs can be intolerant of cheese. Even for dogs that are able to tolerate cheese, it is probably best fed in moderation,” they write.
We’re so happy to hear that Bacchus can have some cheese! If anyone deserves it, it’s him.
