Meet Moose, a three-year-old blue heeler or Australian Cattle Dog with a unique appearance and an ever-present smile. Despite being born with a deformed skull and a variety of complications that weren’t apparent until he was six months old, Moose has never been abandoned by his owner Jennifer Osborne or put down. Instead, Jennifer describes him as the happiest dog in the world and shares delightful photos of Moose as a tiny puppy with his charming mismatched eyes and wearing a pair of novelty spectacles. Although Moose has parts of his brain missing, a crooked nose, and a huge underbite, his distinctive looks only make him more lovable in Jennifer’s eyes.

It’s a miracle: Jennifer Osborne, the owner of the dog, always knew that despite his physical abnormalities, he was still an affectionate and adorable pet.

According to Jennifer, Moose’s unique features are natural and not the result of any external intervention. She explained that his nose was pushed into his skull during birth, resulting in his underbite, crooked nose, and deformed skull.

Flawed but fabulous: Moose is not only remarkable for his unconventional appearance due to physical irregularities, but also for his various health issues. Jennifer, a 26-year-old mom from Ohio, stumbled upon Moose in a pet shop back in June 2016. Though she now champions adoption over purchasing pets, Jennifer doesn’t regret taking Moose home with her, sensing things could have gone worse had they parted ways.

Moose, the adorable dog with a unique appearance, has been experiencing grand mal seizures for the past year. Despite his health issues, veterinarians have assured his owner, Jennifer, that his quality of life will not be affected. Jennifer didn’t technically adopt Moose since she got him from a pet store, but she believes that she saved him from being abandoned or euthanized. She thinks that Moose was born with physical deformities due to his nose being pushed into his skull while he was still in the womb. In addition to his distinct appearance, Moose also suffers from seasonal allergies and cherry eye. Jennifer explained that Moose’s grand mal seizures started in April 2018, and at his worst, he had three in 30 hours. He has been taking a low dose of Phenobarbital, which has been helpful in preventing grand mal seizures, but Moose still experiences focal seizures every so often, which can last for hours.

As a proud dog owner from Ohio, the 26-year-old expressed gratitude for being able to adopt her furry companion. She remarked that she was glad to have rescued him instead of leaving him to fend for himself or worse, putting him to sleep. He is now considered a beloved member of their family.

Moose is a delightfully charming furry friend. Despite his infectious happiness, he has to deal with numerous obstacles, and unfortunately, he frequently experiences seizures.

Costly: Each year, Jennifer forks out approximately $2,000 to cover Moose’s medical expenses.

According to Jennifer, although only the front part of his brain is impacted by his condition, her loved one’s seizures are expected to worsen over time. However, his neurologist has made it clear that this will not have a significant impact on his life expectancy. Despite these challenges, they are determined to persevere.

Jennifer, the endearing owner of Moose, has launched her own collection of Moose-themed products to offset expenses. According to her, Moose’s MRI scan revealed that he had a deformed skull, a lack of sinuses and brain portions that impaired his sense of smell. Furthermore, a cyst was detected in the area of the deformity.

Jennifer, the owner of Moose, considers her pet to be a miracle as he survived despite having parts of his brain missing. Although Moose’s seizures are expected to worsen and the extra vet bills cost Jennifer and her family over $2,000 annually, she still believes that he is a blessing in her life. Moose remains a loyal and happy pet to Jennifer and his canine siblings and shows no signs of slowing down. Despite his condition, Moose is an intelligent dog with a unique personality who loves everyone, especially his momma.
