Dog refuses to share his toys until little sister comes along

Jason was a cop and worked in the dog squad. His partner was a German Shepherd, and his name was Sonny. Jason and Sonny went along perfectly with each other. However, Jason would often vent his frustration, and Sonny would hear him out.

Sonny could easily understand when Jason was happy or upset. He could easily read his human partner’s emotions. Whenever Jason returned to the cruiser, he found Sonny already waiting for him.

Sonny would switch on his cop mode when he saw Jason wearing his uniform. He would jump straight inside the car and pace around in the back of the vehicle. When the duo returned home, Sonny would switch off his cop mode.

He would lay on the ground in a relaxed pose and play with Jason’s daughter, Reagan. She would crawl all over him and grab his toes, paws, and ears without any fear. Sonny took such actions like a champ.

Sonny was there when Reagan was born. Although Jason and his wife, Lainey, were skeptical about whether the dog would allow them to share the spotlight, Sonny was very understanding.

Before Reagan was born, Sonny had his own space, where he would spend some time alone. However, since Reagan was born, he preferred to stay with her. He would never share his toys with anyone. But he changed himself completely and shared his toy willingly with little Reagan.

The fact that Sonny was very kind towards Reagan instilled the trust within the couple that he would never cause her any harm. Jason and Lainey expected another daughter soon. But the couple was sure that Sonny would train Reagan and help her become a great big sister.
