Golden Retriever nanny adorably watches over human siblings
Pets can teach a lot to humans, especially if the human is an infant. This is precisely what had happened between Harlow, a Golden Retriever, and Carter. When the family brought Carter from the hospital after he was born, Harlow welcomed the new family member wagging her tail and smiling.
Harlow wanted to say “Hi” to the little baby but was just able to give Carter some nervous licks and a couple sniffs. Soon, Harlow accepted her new role as a nanny dog.
Harlow would always lay near the baby Carter all day long. By the time Carter grew up to 8-months old, he had started playing fetch with Harlow using a tennis ball. Although they could not speak to each other in any common language, the duo still magically interacted with each other.
Carter soon grew fond of the family wagon rides around the block. He would sit with Harlow in the wagon and go around the block. The duo would also bounce around on the trampoline. Carter was especially fond of being bounced around by Harlow.
By the time Carter turned 2-years old, he had started showing significant signs of responsibility. He would feed Harlow, open the door to allow the Golden Retriever to go to the bathroom, and give Harlow baths.
Soon Carter had a cute baby sister who was very close to his heart. All the time that Carter spent with Harlow taught him how to be gentle, share, and be responsible.
Harlow helps to expand their family. She also provides her unconditional love if it has been a stressful day at work or chaos at home. It really feels rewarding if you have a pet at home waiting for you.
