Lonely Old Golden Retriever Gets Puppy For Present

Cash is a 12-year-old Golden Retriever who has been quite lonely since his sister, Rosie, passed away unexpectedly a few years ago. His dog-parents picked up on his need for companionship and decided to get him a gift that will keep on giving for years to come. This kind of gift will keep him young and chipper for the rest of his years, we’re sure of that!

Cash’s owners, Jay and Marie Ahonen, decided to surprise their old friend with a fresh new face. Everyone thinks it is cute to watch little kids open up a box with a pet, but this might even trump that! It is so cute to watch sweet Cash’s reaction.

Marie reported that she assumed a puppy present would be a good gift for the entire family. However, she also admitted that “it just kind of piqued in my mind that this will be Cash’s present.” It didn’t take long for Cash to get really into this gift presentation. He couldn’t see his new best friend, but he could sure smell him! He couldn’t wait to see what this new little pup, Jennings, would look like!

When he popped the box open, the old, sad dog became like a young pup again! His whole body was wiggling with excitement.

“He just got so excited and his paws were going a million miles an hour and I’m just so excited, like this is what he needed.” Cash is so excited, it looks like he’s about to pounce on Jennings, after all, he has three years of playtime to catch up on! And honestly, who wouldn’t immediately want to befriend this puppy?!

Let’s hope this adorable little puppy is able to keep up. Check it out in the clip below, and remember to share to spread the joy!
