When Zipper arrived at a shelter after being found wandering the streets as a st.ray, staff noticed that the 8-year-old canine was unusual. She’s just like any other dog, except that her [def.ormed] jaw gives her the cutest, most distinctive grin.

She seems unfazed by Zipper’s trademark grin. She eats regularly and enjoys rewards, and she appears to be unaware that she is unusual.

We don’t know what caused the jaw [malf.ormation], volunteer with Huntsville Animal Shelter Erin Webb told The Dodo. The root reason of this is unknown to us. She does, in fact, have a large overbite and widely spaced teeth.

She has sev.ere fur [lo.ss] as a result of flea allergies, and she seems to have had numerous litters of puppies in the past. She may have been discarded because she was no longer desired or needed, but her new shelter family recognizes how precious she is and can’t wait to help her find a forever home.

Although Zipper certainly stands out from the pack…

But her peculiar smile makes you curious and eager to learn more about her.

Zipper is friendly toward other canines and even seems to be good with kids. She’s lovely and sweet at heart, so she could probably fit in anywhere.

Zipper has undoubtedly had a rough go of it, and she just wants to settle down with a loving home and some peace and quiet.
